araceli
(ah-rah-sell-e)
o also known as: temple dragon, sky dragon
o species type: evasive
o average lifespan: 80-90 millenium
o physical description:
A mostly scaled, four-legged dragon, with feathers along the nape of its neck, tufting its cheeks, elbows, knees and the tip of its tail. Araceli possess oval, horizontal pupils and their bodies can be almost any color, though they tend to be pale or dull. Their wings are large and thickly feathered. Most of their muscle mass is in their shoulders, wings, and legs to aid them in flight and capturing prey. They also sport multiple pairs of horns, anywhere from two to ten.
o diet: omnivorous
o mode of reproduction: oviparous
o abilities:
- duplication: Araceli can create duplicates of themselves, usually in response to becoming startled. The duplicates are pretty exact and can form on whichever side of their creator that their creator prefers, but they have no actual mind of their own and usually just mimic their source, though sometimes they can, at the very least, be turned in an opposing direction from the Araceli. They become wispy in a matter of minutes and fade completely within an hour. They're entirely gaseous and can be disturbed by obstacles or attacks - if an opponent tried to attack one, it would react the same as batting at smoke might, and would speed in the dissipation of the dupe.
- animation: Araceli have the ability to manipulate items around them without touching them. The item has to be a reasonable weight; nothing more than the subject can lift with their body strength. The ability is also ranged, though it depends on the user's proficiency - an average Araceli's range is anywhere from five to twelve feet from their body. Araceli use their animation ability to build temples and other basic structures.
- ink production: Araceli's breath ability is ink production, a somewhat harmless ability in hindsight but excellent for blinding and immobilizing their enemies, especially due to the quantity they're capable of producing.
o biological abilities: Araceli produce a biological antifreeze that allows them to withstand incredibly low temperatures and fly at high altitudes.
o reproductive cycle: Araceli tend to be polyamorous, as reproduction is fairly brief for them. They produce anywhere from 1 - 15 eggs in a single clutch and their offspring only need to be watched until they hatch, although lots of parents tend to bring their young up in their clans or tribes. They reach full maturity after their first century.
