Species Name:
The Forosune (For - os - oon)
Also known as The Winter Dragons
Species Type:
Defensive
Average Lifespan:
10-110 Millennium
Physical Description:
The Forosune is a winged dragon with four legs. Depending on origin, the being could have horns or a hardened skull, and all dragons of this species have tail spikes ranging from an inch to several inches long. Antifreeze protein is found within the blood of these species, and as their name suggests, they survive in subzero conditions. The eyesight of The Forosune is better than the other species because of their environment; because they live in a cold and snowy area they need great eyesight to spot prey, this also means they are great at creating fine pieces of jewellery. All dragons of this species are variants of white and blue, but some pull out a few scales to place in jewels/flat gemstones, making their hide more beautiful. The species are vain and take great pride in their appearance, this is why they inlay jewels to their hide. Eye colours vary from yellow to green; it's rare for a dragon of the Forosune to have violet or red eyes.
Diet:
Carnivorous, but when pushed to extremes they can be omnivorous
Mode of Reproduction:
Like Polar Bears, they birth live young
Abilities/Biological Abilities:
Great eyesight and precise movements. With their great eyesight and preciseness, they are master jewellers and great painters.
All Forosune can survive in subzero conditions and have ice breath able to freeze solid small beings (like hares) but can cause ice to build up on larger beings.
Because of their light hide/scale colourings, they are camouflaged in snow covered environments.
Forosune dragons mate for life, unless one partner dies. If a couple breaks due to one dying, they either live in solitude or find another to mate with. Most live alone until death, but some have been able to find another mate. It is possible for Forosune dragons to die from heartbreak and loss, so most that are left alone in solitude die younger than those in a pair.
During a Forosune's pregnancy, they can have a hatchling group ranging from two (2) to seven (7) hatchlings. Some mothers have more than seven hatchlings since most don't survive to adulthood. Winter Dragon gestation period last for 75 days, and their breeding season is autumn/fall.
